I am writing to cancel the insurance policy with policy number with effect from the earliest date allowed by the notice period in my policy.

Please confirm the following to me in writing: - that you have received and actioned this cancellation; - the exact date and time at which the cover ends; - the amount of premium you will refund, and any charge you are deducting.

I am also cancelling the Direct Debit for this policy with my bank with effect from the end date. Please do not present any further collections after that date, and please refund any premium already paid for the period after the end date.

What to look out for

Only cancel once your replacement cover has definitely started, so that you are never left uninsured.
Cancelling car insurance? Make sure the vehicle is insured under a new policy or is properly declared off the road before the cover ends.
